EAST LANSING, MI –The Michigan Section PGA elected new officers for a two year term and an honorary member at the Association’s Annual Meeting attended by over 140 Michigan PGA Members. The meeting was held October 23, 2023 at Eagle Eye Golf Club in East Lansing, Michigan.
Stephanie Jennings, Women's Golf Coach at Eastern Michigan University, takes over as the Association’s President, the first female in the history of the Michigan PGA.Jennings is only the tenth woman President elected of the 41 Sections of the PGA of America.
Jennings, a member of The PGA of America since 2007, has been the Women's Golf Coach at Eastern Michigan University since 2018 and will succeed Dean Kolstad, of Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort. Kolstad will begin his term as Honorary President.
Dan Urban, of Gull Lake Country Club in Richland, Michigan, was elected Vice President. Urban, a member of The PGA of America since 2012, has been the Director of Golf since 2016 and will succeed Stephanie Jennings.
Jeff Rachar, of Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has been elected Secretary. Rachar, a member of The PGA of America since 2003, has been the Head Golf Professional at Forest Lake since 2018 and will succeed Dan Urban.
“The Association is fortunate to be able to utilize Stephanie, Dan and Jeff's expertise going forward. This group of officers is dedicated to working with the Board of Directors to serve the needs of the entire membership,” said Kevin Helm, Michigan PGA Executive Director.
Doug Dingwall, of Holly Michigan, has been elected an Honorary Member by the members of the Michigan Section PGA also during theAnnual Meeting.
Dingwall is one of only six Honorary Members in the 101 year history of the Michigan Section PGA.
The Michigan PGA and its 800 members and associates serve the Michigan golf community by promoting the game of golf and overall vitality of the game. |
